Development news: Got Cozify write operations working

(I'll be posting this kind of short, almost tweet-like news to this blog, as here it feels natural and comfortable, on LinkedIn I would feel like a spammer)

I got Cozify write operations working! Some time around Christmas I realised that underneath the unofficial Cozify API Python library does support write operations after all, it's just that its documentation does not reflect that.

Part 31: Welcome to my new virtual home!

New year comes with new ideas, so I decided to move my blog from LinkedIn to a dedicated website, whatsuphome.fi. This week I'll write about the rationale of my move.

LinkedIn articles did serve my blogging purposes quite well. However, now that my home monitoring thing has become a real thing, it was time to setup a real domain for the blog.

But why?

A real domain and a dedicated content management system do become with apparent benefits.

Baby cry detection

Part 29: The baby is crying

Can you detect a crying baby with Zabbix? Of course you can! By day, I am a monitoring tech lead in a global cyber security company. By night, I monitor my home with Zabbix & Grafana and do some weird experiments with them. Welcome to my blog about the project.

Time really flies. Our little baby girl at home is already about three and a half months old, and that shows in so many ways. If during her first month or two she cried quite a lot and quite easily due gassy stomach and whatnot, she nowadays mostly is a chill mini-human just observing the world.

Fairy tale time!

Can you create fairy tales with Zabbix? Of course you can! By day, I am a monitoring technical lead in a global cyber security company. By night, I monitor my home with Zabbix & Grafana and do some weird experiments with them. Welcome to my blog about this project.

We all know how Zabbix has the never-ending list of integrations for just about everything --need to integrate it with OpsGenie, PagerDuty, Teams, Slack or something else? No problem, there's probably a ready-made integration for that already.

Some time ago Zabbix blog had an excellent read about how to backup Zabbix. While I'm next time coming up with something Completely Else in this blog, this week I wanted to remind you about backups.
