As part of my monZphere custom Zabbix modules blogging spree, here comes the next one. This is where things are getting more exciting. What if you could do your Zabbix tasks just by chatting with a friendly chatbot? What if I told you that you can actually do that today?
Some/many of you may have seen and tried initMAX ChatGPT widget. It initially came out .. hmm.. I think last year? Time flies. Anyway, it's been out there for a while now, and many moons ago I even did make it compatible with my GPT4All. Well, that was like one URL change in the code.
The said widget is a cool tech demo and I still love it, but it is -- or at least was -- heavily geared towards chatting with ChatGPT. Tight real-time integration with your Zabbix, forget about that. Guys at initMAX, please drop me a note if things have changed.
Back to today's topic.
monZphere's AI assistant widget
monZphere takes things a step further. Their AI assistant widget -- embedded in your Zabbix, of course -- communicates with your Zabbix in real-time over Zabbix API, and can do some cool party tricks. The module is under heavy development and what you see here is an early access sneak peek, so all the rough corners are expected. But what you are about to see is nevertheless very fascinating.
In the screenshot you can see the mic icon, you can, or will be able to talk to this thing -- please ask from monZphere for more information.
Now, let's start with an easy one, and see if it can reply us who's there.
That was smooth. Moving on to next one, can this guy show us any active alerts?
Can it list us the configured triggers for any given host?
Sure thing! The list went on and on for several chat windows, no point to put all that here so the screenshot is a short one.
What if I want to create a host and then see if it's actually there?
So far so good. Can I show any maintenance periods?
... or could it create a new maintenance?
You get the idea. I'm sure this module has many more tricks under its sleeves and definitely raises the bar for how we can communicate with our monitoring tools in the future. Or, right now.
Thanks, monZphere!
