TL;DR

Zabbix Cloud setup was painless: a few clicks for the account, a ready e-mail within 10 to 15 minutes, then naming and spinning up my instance. Adding this blog to Selenium monitoring was as easy as on-prem Zabbix, and I also made my home Zabbix monitor

Now that Zabbix rolled out their Zabbix Cloud, of course I rushed in to create a new instance for me. This must be about my quickest blog post ever.

Getting my Zabbix Cloud account was very painless indeed! Few clicks to create an account, within 10-15 minutes I got an e-mail that everything is ready, then few more clicks (like give a name for my instance), wait for the instance to spin up, done! See, it's up:

Other than that, it's the Zabbix we all know and love. I didn't yet do anything else with it other than added this blog to Selenium monitoring, which was just as easy as in on-prem Zabbix: create host, assign it the browser test template, enter the address you want to monitor, apply, done. Looks still very empty as I literally just created this moments ago, but here it is.

Blog monitoring

And, of course someone needs to monitor the monitor, so I made my home Zabbix to monitor my cloud instance, too. As my instance is very fresh, of course this still looks very empty but the data will come.

Monitor the monitor

Fantastic that Zabbix now has their own cloud offering for those who don't want to run on-prem instance. Congrats and see you soon at the Zabbix Summit 2024!
