Home Assistant will take my monitoring to Creepyville level
My colleague hinted me about Home Assistant's HomeKit Controller integration for monitoring my Netatmo environmental sensor. It works! I mean, I got it to show on my Home Assistant already.

Zabbix 6.4.0 has landed! I've been running the RC versions for some time now and everything's been stable, so go and update your Zabbix (with the usual cautionary steps, of course). Of course, my home Zabbix now runs 6.4.0, too.

Can you integrate a CO2 meter which really wouldn't want you to integrate it with Zabbix, with Zabbix? Of course you can! By day, I'm a Lead Site Reliability Engineer in a global cyber security company. By night, I monitor my home with Zabbix & Grafana and do some weird experiments with them.
I have an el cheapo environmental monitor by Netatmo, showing the temperature, humidity, CO2 level and noise level.
Can you create a proper weather dashboard with Zabbix? Of course you can! By day, I am a Lead Site Reliability Engineer in a global cyber security company. By night, I monitor my home with Zabbix & Grafana and do some weird experiments with them.
Since Zabbix 6.2 (or 6.0? Cannot remember...) has provided you an official OpenWeatherMap template. It gives you all the standard weather details: temperature, humidity, and so on, for any location you'd like to observe.
Until now this site was running with Drupal 9 default theme, Oliveiro. Today I changed the site layout to Electra theme, so if you think the site looks different than before, you are not imagining it.
Can you monitor how much you drive your car, even if your car wouldn't have any way to report back to Zabbix? Of course you can! By day, I am a Lead Site Reliability Engineer in a global cyber security company. By night, I monitor my home with Zabbix & Grafana and do some weird experiments with them. Welcome to my blog about the project.
Yay! Back in part 37 of this blog I found out that double-digit negative values were not correctly colorised by their threshold in a single item value widget. But, like I expected, Zabbix the company was quick to fix the issue after I reported it as this was such a trivial fix, and the bug has been now fixed in Zabbix 6.4.0rc2. Behold!
In part 36 of this series, I did let you know I have NetFlow monitoring at home. But for what is it good for, other than geek factor? Three cheers for dynamic item value background colours! I just upgraded to Zabbix 6.4.0rc1 and the new dynamic panels literally bring new colour to my life. But... YO ZABBIX TEAM! Did I find a bug?
I updated to Zabbix 6.4.0 release candidate one about 30 minutes ago, and one immediate thing I have waited to get to do would be to start using the dynamic colours in the item value panels.
YAY! Now I have them.
Not yet in all of my panels, but I decided to come and write this blog post immediately for two reasons:
Earlier in this series I wondered if Zabbix could help with monitoring the baby's nocturnal waking.
It appears that... drumroll...
YES, YOU CAN!
After we adjusted the thermostat a bit the baby has been sleeping much, much better.
